Who's that trip trapping over my bridge...?

This week we have continued our focus on traditional stories in Literacy. We have been busy reading, retelling and innovating the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff.

In maths we have been investigating weight. The children have been using balances to find the weight of objects. First we used non-standard measures such as cubes then we introduced standard measures.

In PE the children have started to practise and develop their balancing skills focusing on static balances. The home challenge this week is to stand on one leg and make up a clapping rhyme with someone else. Remember to try on both legs. How long can you balance for?

Next week we will be focusing on our Newbridge 50 topic of ‘My Treasure.’ Please continue to bring in any special books or boxes of treasure. To help support the children’s learning we would appreciate the following materials:

- Junk modelling materials
- Small and medium boxes
Plastic trays

Please send any items into school by Monday 9th February

Thank you!
