WOW! What a week!

WOW! What a week!

We started our week with a WOW! day, thinking about our Newbridge 50, ‘Putting on a Show’.  The children spent the morning doing lots of different drama activities using their voices, bodies and imaginations.  After lunch, the children watched a stage version of the well known story ‘The Gruffalo’ and were treated to popcorn in the interval!  Afterwards we discussed the acting, props and costumes. They are now well equipped to take on their roles in the Christmas performance.

Today the children have been given their scripts for the Christmas performance which they have begun to learn.  Please encourage your child to practise at home, not only to remember their lines, but also to look for cues so that they know when to say them!  This is another opportunity for the children to read and practice expression, so please record this in their Reading Record books (this can count towards their weekly reading target of three times a week).  Please remember that the children need to be responsible and keep their scripts in their book bags so they are always in school when we need them.

We look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks time for the performances … not long to go!
